Capturing a Moment in Time

Before my oldest child was born, I was given a craft kit with some foam that you push the baby's foot into in order to capture its imprint. It was a great gift and the footprint and baby picture hang in my son's room. I bought something similar when Lily was born. This time, I didn't have anything and the thought of going to the craft store with the three kids, 10 days postpartum, wasn't appealing. I got out the washable ink pad and made little prints of Penelope's feet. You wouldn't believe her sobbing. She doesn't like to be cool for even a moment so simply taking her feet out of her clothing set her off! But her tears didn't scare off the big kids. They wanted to make their prints for their scrapbooks as well. I'm sure we will treasure them.
