I took your advice and went ahead and opened a little Etsy shop. You can find me at DuringQuietTime. I am just selling my linocut cards at the moment (made from that big stack of blocks I share a week or so ago!). I put up a selection of them to see how things go and don't plan to stress about it. Over the summer, I would like to add some mini quilts made with some of the linocut prints. Perhaps I will make up another "Scattered Dots" piece. Time will tell!
Take a peek and tell me what you think. Perhaps tell me what design is your favorite. Give me an idea for my stack of uncarved blocks. Followers may enter a second time. I will choose a random winner on Tuesday morning. The winner will receive 3 cards of their choice.
Edited to add: My shop is now happily shipping internationally.
Nice job with the shop! The cards are lovely. I love those little dresses. Suggestions? Hmm, you could do words or letters. How about some quilty ones? I'm sure you will think of something perfect. Can't wait to see.

ReplyDeleteCongrats on opening your shop! How fun! Your whimsical dresses are adorable.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with 9patchnurse . . . . a word print world be really cool! Word prints seem to be a hot item in textile design these days.

The flowers that you have done are beautiful. I tend to be drawn to things in nature so trees, leaves, pinecones, birds would be some ideas. Thanks so much for the giveaway and good luck with the shop. Your work is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! You are quite talented and inspiring! I love the flowers and the dresses. The detail is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on taking the PLUNGE!!! I KNOW you will do well...of course I think EVERYTHING you do is AMAZING!! I am still in AWE of you CARVING such intricate designs in wood...AMAZING!! :D As for suggestions...hmmmmm? Maybe do some "occasion" sets, like boy/girl bdays..showers. With your sense of style that is FAR above "normal" it would give the buyer just the unique invitations they are looking for?!
ReplyDeleteWay to go!! I love the sunflower (A LOT). I am sure you will do very well. Your cards are very beautiful and original. It's a fantastic series!
ReplyDeleteFollowing, as always.
ReplyDeleteThose are lovely! My fav is the lullaby, seeing as I'm going to be a first-time grandma in October! Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm a follower already!
ReplyDeleteYay for setting up shop! I love that lily card, especially on the yellow paper. Very pretty! As someone who has what feels like a bazillion brother-in-laws and always needs a more masculine card, I'd suggest something like a bicycle. Or heck, a VW Vanagon! But that might be selfishly specific :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I follow!
ReplyDeleteyay new shop~ waiting to see what quilts will be in the store. i love the cards that are in the store right now, espeically Sand Dollar and Sea Shell

ReplyDeleteyou are just so talented! I like them all - the coffee cup is great, but I think my absolute fav are the florals. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeletewhat can you do with them? Lets see - you could make napkins and applique them on - raw edge in a corner, or you can border them and then sew them together for a small quiltie/wallhanging, or you could send them to me!!! lol
ReplyDeletewell first of all i'm a follower...

ReplyDeleteamy- congrats on opening a shop! i'm so excited for you. my favorites right now are your floral prints and your dresses, but all of your work is really pretty. ideas--these are things i love--leaves, doilies, and cozy little houses. i can't wait to see what else you come up with.
ReplyDeleteof course i am a follower, too.
ReplyDeleteWow! Where have I been? I almost missed this. I love, love all your cards. My favorite one has the baby basket hanging from the branch. Unfortunately I don't have use for a baby card at the moment. I also absolutely love the lily and the sunflower. An idea for more carved blocks would be an owl, an antique sewing machine, toys for boys like cars, trains, or a little doll for girls. I love all your cards. Thanks for the chance to win.
