Kokeshi Doll Fun!

I have been up to my neck in Kokeshi doll freezer paper stencil making and printing for the last few days. Mandy liked her Kokeshi doll pincushion so much that she proposed a trade. The dolls above and below are ready to send to her pending her approval!

While I was at it, I cut a few more stencils and made some pincushions for my etsy shop.

If you just have to have a bit of their cuteness, click on the link in the sidebar. I kept the price very reasonable considering all the work that goes into them. They are created from my original sketches and the stencils are hand cut, one use per stencil.

  2. I LOVE these little dolls! I've never heard of them but they remind me of the russian nesting dolls (matryoshka). Hmmm, going to check out ETSY!!!

  3. Oh my goodness Amy, these are so cute! I really love the design of your pincushion, with the frayed selvedge edge, hand quilting, and a bit of quilting cotton on the side. SO nice!

I had no idea you only used your stencils once! Now I'm even more impressed with your process.

Great labels too . . . do you mind sharing where you got them?
