I decided to go with Michele's suggestion and try a couple of Kokeshi doll pillow covers for little girls' rooms (or not so little girls).

I made this one using Michael Miller Bubble Blast Watermelon for the pillow front, along with the stencilled linen, and Kona Bright Pink on the back.

The second pillow cover was inspired by Krista's new favorite color combo, navy and raspberry pink. The pink fabric was a great find at my LQS. It's Kona Bay Fabrics NOBU-24 and perfect with kokeshi dolls!
They are in the shop.
They are quite cool as pillows! And the colour combinations are just beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteoh... the pillows are just awesome amy! i love how you used three different doll prints on each and I really like the raw edge of linen (if that is what I'm seeing in the photo)! that's a great touch, along with the hand stitching. yep, just gorgeous. but what else did I expect, right?
ReplyDeleteoh and I must also say that your teddy bear doll quilt below is so sweet. someone is gonna be ecstatic to receive that little number!
They are so adorable. I love all the projects you make with the Kokeshi doll stencils. They are just so unique and wonderful!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou're right, those fabrics are both perfect with the Kokeshi dolls - the pillows are amazing! Now, what are you doing with all the linen that doesn't have a selvage edge??!!??
