A friend suggested that, as a person who sews, I really should be making reusable gift bags. I thought it was a good suggestion though I would have taken it better a month ago when I had more time! I am planning on wrapping some of our gifts this year in reusable gift bags and have put a few in my shop as well.
They make rather elegant wrapping, I think. I used Kona unbleached premium muslin and printed my pinecone and snowflake linoleum block designs because they are not exclusive to Christmas but can be used throughout the winter season. The bags are tied with satin ribbon that is secured in the seam and therefore can't become separated from the bag. I can definitely see making some birthday versions of these in the future.
ABSOLUTLY!!!
ReplyDeleteI have been staring at my little bag of linocuts. I want to start playing with them but have so many other things that need to come first!;o
What a great idea!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea!
ReplyDeleteYes, of course your should be making pretty re-usable bags! It's a natural fit for your shop I think!
ReplyDeleteSuper smart idea! The prints look great on the bags. I like that you sewed in the ribbons as well.
ReplyDeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteAmy, I love these so much! Can I use a photo on the blog to remind people about the Green Grocery Bag Challenge? I'll link back here and to the Flickr pool.
ReplyDeleteShoot, I didn't realize that my Google account didn't have my info. kristin@sewmamasew.com
