Sugar and Spice and "Everything Nice"

A girly girl at heart, every now and then I need a lace, rick rack, floral, girly project fix. I made a mini quilt using my "smocking" dress on hanger linocut.

I'm calling it "everything nice" which I freemotion quilted above and below the print, using white glass beads to dot the i's (with some little hearts for extra girly good measure). It's embellished with pink rick rack and 100% cotton lace.

I attached little triangular pockets at the upper corners for hanging but it is also the perfect size for a doll's cradle. I had fun and got that out of my system. It's in my shop!

It's so "pinky" and beautifully made!
I would hang it on the wall so that I can look at it the whole time

  4. There's something really satisfying about expressing that girlie-girl inside of us, isn't there?! Love the colors and special details on this.

  5. Nice, Amy! I bet it will find a home with a cute little girl. Not that I know much about that! Anyway, I love the "everything nice" quilting. I still have to learn to do that. Maybe I will have some time to play around with that now that I am off work for a while. The beads are a great touch!
