I know what you are thinking...did she just say "Cozy Winter Hood?" Yes, I did. Yes, it is the end of May. Yes, it is actually hot here in New England today. However, the copy of "Oliver + S Little Things to Sew" that I borrowed from the library is due back today and I decided at the last minute that I wanted to make a couple more things before returning it!
I had my eye on the "Cozy Winter Hood" for Penny and somewhere in the back of my mind I remembered a piece of thick off white fleece that was up in the attic left over from a baby blanket that I made for Timothy over eight years ago now! Miraculously, I found said fleece and there was exactly enough left for this hood! I lined it with pink stretch linen leftover from Penny's Easter coat. I have to say that the combination of the fleece and stretch linen, both of which had a bit of give, made it a breeze to sew those curved seams. The hat went together in a half hour and is really cute. Penny loves it so I had to quickly hide it away till the fall lest she melt.
I took this picture because I love the way her little curls stick out!
I made one more project from the book and I will share pictures tomorrow!
Penny looks so cute with the cozy winter hood!
