I have such an undeniable love of Christmas crafting. I like to try to keep it low pressure, crafting for family and friends but every year I am asked to sell my ornaments in my Etsy shop. It looks like once again, I will probably not be prepared early enough to do that. But I intend to make my share of Christmas crafts for fun at very least. If I am able to make enough to add to my shop, I will.
I also joined a Christmas ornament swap so I need to make four ornaments, one each for my four secret partners.
I'm trying to get myself in the Christmas crafting mood by going through my photos of Christmas projects from the last couple of years. It's starting to work but I think that the Christmas crafting spirit will come a bit easier after this weekend when I am done throwing my daughter a Halloween themed birthday party...and when a box of new Sizzix Christmas dies arrive!
What are you making for Christmas?

So much christmasy goodness!! I just picked up some wool for presents. I'm hoping to get a few pairs of thrummed mittens made and I have my eye on a pattern for an apron with dresden plate pockets I want to do up for my mom. I'm trying to get started now to because there just never seems to be enough time! Happy crafting :)
ReplyDeleteMy mother's sweet friend loves redbirds. The other day we found some beautiful Christmas fabric with redbirds on it. Later we found a gorgeous music print (the lady's husband was a music director for years) that went well. I threw in some prints from my stash and made some nice potholders for my mother's friend. It was nice to be working on someone else's list instead of mine!
ReplyDeleteLove the inspiration but I'm so not ready for Christmas!!! Can't wait to see what you come up with for me to copy;-)
ReplyDeleteHeheh....guess you need to do a few Christmas crafts every month to keep your coffers full!;)
ReplyDeleteI am making my sister and my parents each a simple Christmas quilt. I hope to have them finished to give them at the beginning of December.
Hubby's side of the family are doing a Secret Santa...when I get my person I might be making them a project...might!;)
Lovely inspiration. Eek. I haven't been thinking about Christmas nearly enough--since I may or may not be in two blog hops...
ReplyDeleteLast year my nieces and nephews all got 18" quilted reading pillows. That just about did me in. I think I'll be making crayon/pencil crayon rolls this year! An ipad case for SIL is on the list as well. She had her lower lip out pretty far last week when she saw the one I'd made for my mom :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the eye candy. Yeah, I have trouble thinking about Christmas before Halloween. But I think I need to, considering I'm leaving for Florida on Dec. 16!
ReplyDeleteGood heavens... - Christmas is really sneaking up on us!
